Moomin Evening Swim Arabia Summer 2019

Remember the Moomin family preparing to go on vacation last summer? This summer we find them on holiday on an island. Will all the things they brought along be of any use on this adventure? Fishing rods and beauty products, swimming suits and pancake pans, food supplies and cooking utensils, they seem to be well prepared.

Here they meet a group of pirates and they rescue Mymble from a sinking ship. Under the red sunset sky they enjoy an evening swim, jumping from a quickly improvised diving board, while a little yellow cat watches from the shore in disbelief.

As we are used by now, Arabia enchants us again with the 6 piece set of the summer: a plate, a mug, 2 spoons and 2 new handmade minifigurines, Little My and Tooticky which makes now a family of 6 ceramics figurines based on the original design of Tuulikki Pietilä :

Moomin Collector’s Plates 2018 Millenium and Rose

The Moomin Collector’s Plates get two new additions this autumn, Millennium and Rose, with pictures you might remember from the corresponding mugs from 2000 and 1990’s.
The Millenium mug was designed to celebrate the turn of the Millennium, and the image shows the whole Moomin family and their friends gathered outside to watch the fire works of the New Year 2001. They left their warm hibernating beds to celebrate such a unique event.
The plate and mug Rose are based on Tove Jansson’s comics in which Moomintroll tries to win Snorkmaiden’s heart again when she gets jealous of the Primadonna from the circus.

Moomin True To Its Origin 2018

As autumn officially starts today, we bring you two new products to add to the True to Its Origin series which was launched in autumn 2017. These are a larger jar and a serving bowl covered with images from Moominvalley in November and Moominpappa at Sea. They convey the same melancholic somber feeling from the books which were written by Tove Jansson soon after her mother passed away.

You can find the whole series in our shop Finland Quality Design.

Moomin Valley Art Mug 2017 from Arabia

In just a few weeks, in the middle of May, Arabia will launch a new exquisite Moomin mug, result of their collaboration with Tampere Art Museum. The mug is illustrated with one Tove Jansson’s aquarelle which was painted for the cover of the french version of the book “Finn Family Moomintroll” in 1968.

In the story Moomintroll , Sniff and Snufkin find the hat of the Hobgoblin, that magically changes things. Eggshells turn into clouds and the Moomins begin to fly on them.  The Hobgoblin is looking for the world’s biggest jewel and he wants to get Thingummy and Bob’s ruby. All is well in the end and Moominmamma throws a party where everyone is invited to celebrate.

Snowhorse- Moomin Winter 2016 Arabia

Just in a couple of weeks, on 1st of October, Arabia will launch the Moomin seasonal products for this coming winter. As last winter there will be a mug, a bowl, 2 small spoons and a set of 4 miniature decorative mugs.

This series is based on the Tove Jansson’s original artwork from the book Moominland in Midwinter and it is designed by Tove Slotte.

Everybody knows that the Moomins sleep through winter. But one year, while the rest of the Moomin family are in the deep slumber of their hibernation, Moomintroll finds himself awake and unable to get back to sleep. He decides to go out and explore his favorite summer spots. He discovers a strange, unknown world where everything is covered in cold, white powder.

While Moomins were asleep, Too-Ticky, who doesn’t hibernate, has built a snow horse right in front of Moomin’s house for the Lady of the Cold.  At first, Moomintroll feels a little angry, lonely, and scared. But soon  many characters come to Moominvalley in search of warmth, shelter and some of Moominmamma’s favorite jam. We can spot Hemulen, trying to teach Moomintroll how to ski and Sorry-oo the little dog who becames Hemulen’s new friend .

The colors are subdued, predominantly white, greys and light blues, but Hemulen and Sorry-oo are nice bright spots of yellow and red on the white background.

The whole set will be available in our shop fqd-icon Finland Quality Design on  1.10.2016. Subscribe to our newsletter to get the notification.
